Our company was founded in 1906 (era of Meiji 39) in Kumamoto and we have been walking with its people as a Soy Sauce and Miso Production company over 100 years.
Today, we are not only developing Soy Sauce and Miso but also utilizing the high technical capabilities which we cultivated over the years.
We are working on various product development to respond to customer needs.
Our diversities, flexibililties and development capabilities have created new Hoshisan products as a fusionof tradition and innovation.
We have been and we will always face the challenges to our "food" along with our customers.
Our wish is to continue to devote ourselves to making the best feeling of "deliciousness" to
our products that we can deliver to as many customers as possible.
My grandparents founded a factory for the production and distribution of tobacco from the late stage of Edo period. However, tobacco became the state monopoly of the country so they had no choice but to change their trade.
They had three basic considerations in mind in what they would produce: (1) should not be influenced by the ups and downs of the economy, (2) should be coherent to people's daily lives, and (3) should be essential goods to each household; and so they decided to produce soy sauce.
After that, when my father took over the operation, he thought Miso should be suitable for people's health and thus started producing Miso at the beginning of Taisho era (around 1912).
We thank you all for your continuous patronage for over 100 years. The enthusiasm of our field artisans to be very particular with the high quality of our Koji is the decisive factor of the taste.
And by hearing the customers' voices and opinions,it helped us complete the current taste of our product.,
Every year, we are awarded in the field of miso and soy sauce where our brewing technology has been highly evaluated nationwide including awards from the Minister of Agriculture, and Forest and Fisheries.
